The Great Guide to G Bingo Calls

What do Gandi and Gareth Gates have in common?  Apart from being famous for rather different reasons they both feature in the G bingo calls used by some when playing online bingo.   Would you have any idea what numbers they each represent, if not read on to find out more and add extra colour to your online bingo experience.

What do Gandi and Gareth Gates have in common?  Apart from being famous for rather different reasons they both feature in the G bingo calls used by some when playing online bingo.   Would you have any idea what numbers they each represent, if not read on to find out more and add extra colour to your online bingo experience.

In the case of Gandi it is not just the person alone that this bingo call refers to but actually it is ‘Gandi’s breakfast.’  What do you think he had for his breakfast as maybe this will give you a clue as to what number it is?  Actually there are a few explanations for this call, for the number 80, one of which is that it may refer to an aerial view of Gandi sitting cross legged in front of an empty plate.  Another one is a play on the two numbers involved, which is 8 – ate -0 –nothing.   So the call is the number 80 and many people have used their imagination when deciphering the explanation.

Gareth Gates on the other hand is a bit more straightforward.  You may come across the runner-up in the first series of the ITV talent show Pop Idol when playing free bingo as the number 8.   However for the number 8 there are quite a few alternatives which can be used more frequently than Gareth Gates.

Another call for the number 8 is Garden Gate which is quite commonly used.  This online bingo call also pops up in Cockney rhyming slang with the best known meaning being ‘mate’ but it could also refer to a ‘magistrate.’  You can also hear Golden Gate for the number 8, named after the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

Staying with the gate theme, can you guess what number Gateway to Heaven is?  This is the number 27 which it sort of rhymes with, well at least heaven and seven do.  It can also be linked with the phrase Seventh Heaven but this is more firmly associated with the next bingo call God’s In Heaven which is the number 7.  Get Up and Run is another bingo call where apart from some rhyming there is no other explanation; Get Up and Run is the number 31.

Moving from gates to places there is Gordon’s Den which rhymes with number 10.  This online bingo call will change according to which British Prime Minister is living at Number 10 Downing Street, but for now as Gordon Brown resides at number 10 it is Gordon’s Den.  What do you think Gordon or maybe Margaret Thatcher would say is something surprised them?  Lots of polite British people like them may still say Goodness Me.  What a pleasant exclamation which also rhymes and refers to the bingo call for number 3.

We can be sure that both Gordon and Margaret have both also said Goodbye to their Teens, a few years ago.  Well if they play bingo they could still say Goodbye Teens as this is a call for 19.  But the good news is after 19 they or you can be Getting Plenty, a bingo call that needs some imagination also, but it does rhyme with the number 20.

Would you consider Baroness Margaret Thatcher to be a possible Grandmamma of Bingo?  The answer to this that she was over 10 years ago but no longer is, as a Grandmamma of Bingo refers to the number 74 but as she was born in 1925 she has passed this point!  What about Gordon Brown; is he or will he be a Granddaddy of Bingo?  In Gordon’s case he has a few years to go before being a Granddaddy of Bingo as this is for 75, and Gordon was born in 1951, so he needs another 16 years yet.

To finish off the G bingo calls we have another one that rhymes with the number 33 which is Gertie Lee and a nice easy one Give us Fives which is 55.   There is no doubt some of these should stick in your mind and amuse you the next time you are playing free bingo online or you play online bingo for real money, so enjoy and be lucky!
