For the avid bingo fan, there can be nothing more impressive than a whole ocean cruise dedicated to the beautiful game. The World Championship Bingo Tournament and Gaming Cruise is in its 27th year, and will sail from Florida to the Caribbean this December, taking in Haiti, Jamaica and Mexico.
On board the hugely impressive Oasis of the Seas will be plenty of highly competitive bingo tournaments, plus all the usual cruise attractions of great food, shows, dancing and relaxing under the equatorial sun. In 2014 some 77% of players won prizes, and while the crowd is likely to be mostly American there's nothing to stop the Brits from taking home their share of the spoils. See the pictures from last year's cruise here.
There are other games to play too, including blackjack, poker and slots, but the focus will be on the bingo action with over 20 hours of gaming across 100 events, with around $80,000 (£52,000) in prizes and tickets to next year's cruise on offer in the final game. All games take place on the ship's magnificent Opal Theatre; quite a step up from your local bingo hall on a wet and gusty British winter evening.
The Oasis of the Seas comes with four pools, an aquatic centre, 10 whirlpools, a mini golf course and an 18,000 square foot Casino Royale to keep on gaming into the night. There are themed parties and endless activities to keep guests happy, while the stop-off tours around the Caribbean provide breath taking sights and sounds, and some beautiful beaches and exclusive shopping opportunities. Accommodation is in staterooms, suites or mini suites, and, as you'd expect from an American cruise line, the food is out of this world.
If you're a regular cruiser or thinking of planning your first voyage, the Bingo Cruise is a great way to mix your favourite pastime with a once in a lifetime scenic tour on board one of the biggest and best cruise ships on the planet.
